Abstract: HyperShell is an elegant, cross-platform, high-performance computing utility for processing shell commands over a distributed, asynchronous queue. It is a highly scalable workflow automation tool for many-task scenarios. The software was originally created several years ago at Purdue University to meet the specific unmet needs of researchers not satisfied by existing solutions. Here we will outline the context for its existence and focus on some unique capabilities it offers.
