Abstract: Research Software Engineering (RSE) provides methodological tools to develop software to be deployed in High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures, follow good practices, and achieve a good quality of software. Also, RSE supports actors involved in the development, from developers to users, including development, deployment, interaction, and training. The oil and gas community is one of the most critical contexts for scientific applications, from exploration to econometry and market analysis. Following RSE elements, we present a development path to build robust research software in this contribution.
