Mayanka Chandra Shekar is a Research Scientist in Biomedical NLP at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. At ORNL, she works on natural language processing for free-text electronic health records under the Veteran Affairs’ MVP prostate cancer exemplar, NCI-DOE MOSSAIC, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center’s Mental Health Trajectory projects. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in transfer learning and domain adaptation in image and text datasets. During her Ph.D., she did a research internship in Pacific Northwest National Lab on Natural Language Processing, specifically worked on the DARPA Modeling Adversarial Activity (MAA) project on graph generation.
