Biography
Joel Adams is Professor of Computer Science at Calvin University, where he has taught parallel and high-performance computing since 1997. He has been the lead architect of seven Beowulf clusters, has written numerous technical papers, and has authored several well-regarded textbooks. He is a two-time Fulbright Scholar (Mauritius 1998-99, Iceland 2005) and is an ACM Distinguished Member. During the 2022-23 academic year, he is working as a Jefferson Science Fellow with the U.S. Department of State; the views expressed in this work are his own and not necessarily those of the U.S. Government.
