Swaroop Pophale

Biography
Dr. Swaroop Pophale is a Computational Scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She got her doctorate in Computer Science in 2014 from University of Houston. Her main areas of expertise are HPC programming models (distributed and shared), benchmarking, testing and validation. At ORNL she has contributed to research in distributed programming models such as MPI and OpenSHMEM as well as shared memory programming models such as OpenMP. She is also ORNL’s representative on the OpenMP Architecture Review Board (ARB), the governing body responsible for the development and release of the OpenMP Specification. Her other research interests include compiler technology, application profiling, and hardware-software co-design.
