William Burke
Biography
William Burke is a Senior Engineer in the NASA Center for Climate Simulation group. His areas of interest are in high-performance computing (HPC), human-centered AI, large-scale simulations, and cloud computing. He has spent the past 20 years of his career in various technical roles crossing research in industry, government, and academia. Prior to joining NASA, William has worked as a Lead HPC Engineer at George Washington University, NIH at National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NAIAD), The Jackson Laboratory, Merck Research Laboratories, Merrill Lynch and Aetna. He has co-authored “Building a Shared Resource HPC Center Across University Schools and Institutes: A Case Study” and also “Cultivating the CyberInfrastructure Workforce via an Intermediate/Advanced Virtual Residency Workshop.” William is an active member of the Diversity and Inclusion Subcommittee for the SuperComputing Conference Steering Committee, the Diversity and Inclusion Leadership group and ACM.
