Biography
Logan Ward is an Assistant Computational Scientist who specializes in combining Artificial Intelligence and simulation on supercomputers. He is a materials engineer by training and earned his PhD from Northwestern University in 2017, where he studied how to replace costly physics simulations with fast machine learning algorithms. Logan has worked on a variety of challenges at the interface of science and AI since joining Argonne, including designing of new materials for long-term batteries and creating software that simplifies steering large simulation campaigns with machine learning algorithms.
