Cosmin Oancea

Biography
Cosmin Oancea holds a PhD from Western University (Canada) and is currently an Associate Professor at DIKU, University of Copenhagen. He has studied how to combine (compiler) analyses ranging from static to entirely dynamic (and anywhere in between) in the context of extracting and optimizing parallelism from low-level loop-based code. More recently, Cosmin has co-architected the Futhark functional language and its optimizing compiler, which studies how the language, compiler and auto-tuner can be co-designed to lift the level of abstraction at which the reasoning is conducted. Cosmin has contributed to interdisciplinary collaborations aimed at HPC implementation of algorithms from remote sensing, finance, machine learning, etc.
