Biography
Elise Degen is a communication, branding and relations leader with over a decade of experience in her field. She has training and experience in mass communications and business marketing. In her current role, she wears many hats. For the Centre for Advanced Computing, she works to advance communications and relations activities within the Queen’s University research community; she works collaboratively with the consortia partners within Compute Ontario to support the Ontario research community; additionally, for the Compute Canada Federation, she is the co-chair for the Communications Working Group and she sits on the National Training Coordination Team.

Elise is passionate about people, community, empowerment, and professional development. She uses her passion to actively advocate for equity, inclusivity, and diversity in the STEM workforce. She believes in empowering people to collaborate and communicate to overcome barriers and contribute to designing better futures for all.
