Biography
Marek Michalewicz is a Visiting Scientist at Sano Centre for Computational Personalised Medicine, adviser and a member of Technical Executive Committee at the National Supercomputer Centre in Singapore, a founder of Siranga start-up building quantum tunneling-based photodetectors, and four other start-ups previously. He was the Director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Mathematical and Computational Modelling, University of Warsaw from 1st July 2018 till 31st December 2021, CEO of A*STAR Computational Resource Centre in Singapore (2009-2016) and a Principal Research Scientist in High Performance Computing and Communication Group, Division of Mathematical Sciences, in CSIRO, Australia (1990-2000). He was a co-inventor and the leader of InfiniCortex project (2014-2016) to build a global scale concurrent, InfiniBand connected supercomputer located in seven countries on four continents. Marek does research in supercomputing, computational science and theoretical physics and NEMS sensors.
