Biography
Dr. Thomas Naughton is a computer scientist in the Intelligent Systems and Facilities Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory~(ORNL). His research is focused on addressing resource management challenges on large-scale machines and distributed systems, with past projects involving virtualization/containerization in HPC, resilience investigation tools, and runtimes for HPC programming systems. He currently works on the Open MPI for Exascale (OMPI-X) project, and the Interconnected Science Ecosystem (INTERSECT) Initiative at ORNL. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Reading (UK), M.S. in Computer Science from Middle Tennessee State University and B.A. in Philosophy and B.S. Computer Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
