Biography
James J. Davis is a Computational Biologist and staff scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, with joint appointments at the University of Chicago Consortium for Advanced Science and Engineering, and the Northwestern-Argonne Institute for Advanced Science and Engineering. He has a PhD in Microbiology and has expertise in bacterial genomics, phylogeny, comparative genomics, genome annotation, and algorithm design. To date, his work has received over 9,500 citations. Starting in 2020, Dr. Davis has also been involved in studying the evolution and spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and has co-authored nine peer-reviewed articles on this topic since the beginning of the outbreak.
