Maxine Brown is a Visiting Senior Research Scientist at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). From 2014-2020, she was EVL director until her retirement in 2020. Research interests include visualization, collaboration, human-computer interfaces, high-performance computing and international network infrastructure. Brown was active in the ACM SIGGRAPH organization and conferences, and the ACM/IEEE Supercomputing conferences. In recognition of her services to UIC and the community at large, Brown received the 1990 UIC Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence award; the 2001 UIC Merit Award; and the 1998 ACM SIGGRAPH Outstanding Service Award.
