
Biography
Dr Stephen Longshaw (UKRI STFC Daresbury Labs) is a Principal Computational Scientist at one of the UK’s national laboratories. He operates as part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), a subsidiary of the UK’s national research body, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). He has a background in computer science and over a decade of experience in applied computational engineering, at Daresbury Lab he works as part of a large multi-disciplinary team of scientists. He is involved in or leads a number of key projects related to code coupling and exascale computing and is an active maintainer of the Multiscale Universal Interface (MUI) code coupling library. He is an active part of the UK’s current national programme for exascale software development - Exascale Computing ALgorithms & Infrastructures Benefiting UK Research (ExCALIBUR), including a cross-cutting project specifically around scientific code coupling.
