Carlos Jaime Barrios Hernández is director of the High Performance and Scientific Computing Center (SC3UIS) at Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) in Bucaramanga Colombia. He is associate professor of the Informatics and Systems Engineering School (EISI) of the same university and Senior member of the ACM and the IEEE/Computer Society. At same time, Dr. Barrios Hernandez is the chair of the SCALAC (Advanced Computing Systems for Latin America and Caribbean) consortium and co-chair of several academic conferences, workshops and summer schools. Research interests of Dr. Barrios are advanced computing and scalable architectures, performance evaluation, scientific computing linking and programming models. He participates in several projects with different countries in America and Europe. Its studies were in France (Doctor in Informatics and Computer Science (Université Nice-Sophia Antipolis, Nice) and Master in Applied Mathematics and Informatics (Université de Grenoble-Alpes, Grenoble)) and in Colombia (Systems Engineer, Universidad Industrial de Santander, Bucaramanga).
