Mark Fernandez

Biography
Dr. Mark Fernandez is the Principal Investigator (PI) for the Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) Spaceborne Computer Program, where he led efforts to obtain approval for both the initial Spaceborne Computer and the follow-on Spaceborne Computer (SBC-2) to be launched into space and used on board the International Space Station (ISS). In this role, he assembled a virtual team for both missions. He currently is the Payload Developer for Software for the SBC-2 and leads the software development team which continues the advanced development of the “HARDening with SOFTware” architecture.
Dr. Fernandez is also responsible for capturing requirements and incorporating them into future HPE High Performance Computing (HPC) systems and solutions. He works closely with HPE Engineering throughout the product development cycle to insure that HPE products meet requirements and are candidates for inclusion into larger, more complete solutions.
