Jon Calhoun is an assistant professor in the Holcombe Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University. He received a B.S. in Computer Science from Arkansas State University in 2012, a B.S. in Mathematics from Arkansas State University in 2012, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2017. He was awarded a prestigious NSF CAREER award in 2020. His research interests lie in fault tolerance and resilience for high-performance computing (HPC) systems and applications, lossy and lossless data compression, scalable numerical algorithms, power-aware computing, and approximate computing.
