Valerie Taylor

Biography
Dr. Valerie Taylor is the Director of the Mathematics and Computer Science Division and Argonne Distinguished Fellow at Argonne National Laboratory. Her research is in the area of performance analysis and modeling of parallel, scientific applications, with a current focus on energy efficient computing. She is also the President and CEO of CMD-IT, the Center for Minorities and People with Disabilities in Information Technology, whose mission is to ensure that their target communities are fully engaged in computing and to promote innovation that enriches, enhances, and enables these communities. CMD-IT targets African Americans/Blacks, Native Americans/Indigenous People, Hispanics/Latinx, and People with Disabilities. Valerie previously served as head of the computer science and engineering department and senior associate dean of academic affairs in the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University. She earned her Ph.D. in EECS from the University of California, Berkeley.
