Biography
Mark Gates is a Research Assistant Professor in the Innovative Computing Laboratory at the University of Tennessee, where he develops algorithms for linear algebra on distributed, multi-core, GPU-accelerated computers. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011. His research interests are in scientific computing, including linear algebra, optimization, interpolation, and approximation.
