DescriptionLawrence Berkeley National Lab’s (LBNL, https://www.lbl.gov/) Applied Mathematics and Computational Research Division has an opening for an HPC Simulation Engineer to join the team.

In this exciting role, you will help conduct fundamental and applied research in parallel discrete event simulation, load balancing, task scheduling, and reversible computation.
RequirementsWhat is Required: • BS or MS degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field. • At least 2 years of experience developing software in C++ for parallel computing environments. • Proficiency in modern C++ (C++11 or later). • Experience with parallel application performance analysis and optimization. • Familiarity with performance optimization libraries, tools, and techniques. • Familiarity with task-based or discrete event programming models. • Familiarity with software engineering tools such as make and git. • Ability to reason about the correctness and performance of asynchronous, parallel programs. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a cross-disciplinary team. Desired Qualifications: • BS or MS degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field and 5 years of experience developing software in C++ for parallel computing environments.
