SUMMARY:SUSTech Supercomputing Team
DESCRIPTION:Student Cluster Competition\n\nSUSTech Supercomputing Team\n\n
Fan, Zheng, Wang, Zhang, Dong...\n\n- We are from the SUSTech Supercomputi
ng Team (SST). The team is composed of SUSTech undergraduates who take a g
reat interest in computational science and engineering. SST serves the lar
ge HPC user community in SUSTech and practices HPC skills in real scenes.
 \n\n- Team Captain, Yingwei Zheng\n - Participant in SC21 SCC, 2021 APAC
HPC-AI Competition, and ISC22 SCC\n - Has more than 6 years of programmin
 g experience in modern C++ and CUDA\n  - Working on high-level optimizatio
n for high-performance applications with LLVM and MLIR\n - Interested in
 computer graphics\n\n- Bingzhen Wang\n - Participant in SC21 SCC and ASC2
2\n - Maintainer of SUSTech Open Source Mirrors\n - Interested in progra
mming languages and computer graphics\n\n- We have four talented freshmen
 this year. (New Participant Points = 10) They are:\n\n- Jixiao Zhang\n -
Participant of the 2021 APAC HPC-AI Competition and ASC22\n - Working on
recommendation tasks in social networks with Graph Neural Network\n\n- Jun
 feng Chen\n - Experienced software developer\n - Maintainer of SUSTech O
pen Source Mirrors\n - Interested in hardware and operating system\n\n- T
ingzhen Dong\n - Participant in ICPC Contest, Gold Medal of The 2020 ICPC
Asia-East Continent Final\n - Former captain of the SUSTech Collegiate P
rogramming Contest Team\n - Student assistant at the Department of Comput
er Science and Engineering\n - Working on the research of system security
and confidential computing\n\n- Jia'nan Zhu\n - Participant in ICPC and
NOIP Contest\n - Member of SUSTech CTF Team\n - Interested in computer s
ecurity\n\n\n\n- As for our advisor - Dr. Fan is the chief engineer (Senio
r Engineer) of the SUSTech CCSE. He has published more than twenty papers
in high-level academic journals with hundreds of citations. His research p
roposal was supported by the Youth Program of the National Natural Science
Foundation of China and participated in several other programs of Nationa
l Natural Science Funds.\n\n \n\n- Some members of SST have interdiscipli
nary research experience. Yingwei Zheng and Bingzhen Wang have years of ex
perience in online/offline physically-based rendering, which involves Nume
rical Analysis, Probability Theory, Statistics, and Radiometry. And CCSE D
irector Lianping Wang is a chair professor of the Department of Mechanics
and Astronautics. Our team has experience in interdisciplinary cooperation
. These experiences will help us cooperate with experts in other disciplin
es to find breakthrough points in the performance.\n\n\n\n- We created a t
eam with a broad background of experience relevant to the competition. Yin
gwei Zheng has a rich knowledge of compiler optimization technologies and
CPU/GPU microarchitecture. And Tingzhen Dong won the Gold Medal of ICPC. T
hey can tune codes and parameters skillfully. Junfeng Chen, Bingzhen Wang,
and Jia'nan Zhu have rich experience in maintaining clusters in the Cente
r for Computational Science and Engineering of SUSTech. They will provide
support for others during the environment setup. Jixiao Zhang knows a lot
about Machine Learning and will be assigned to the mystery application or
the reproducibility challenge.\n\n\n\n- Using HPC will improve students' a
bility to maintain computers and develop/debug programs. It will also stre
ngthen students' understanding of computer architecture. The purpose of ou
r participation in the SC competition includes, but is not limited to, tra
ining students' abilities, making new friends, participating in top confer
ences, and understanding cutting-edge trends.\n\nRegistration Category: Te
